The Lebanese caretaker prime minister, Najib Mikati, expressed yesterday his hope that the coming days will bring signs of hope for Lebanon and the Lebanese to come out of crises and embark on the process of recovery.

During his patronage, at the Grand Serail, yesterday, Mikati said, “The conference to launch the National Strategy for Digital Transformation in Lebanon 2020-2030”, with the participation of the resident representative of the United Nations Development Program in Lebanon, Melanie Honstein: “In a time of major global transformations, and as Lebanon is passing through a phase of The fateful entitlements, dictated by the constitution, the law, and the reality of public life at home and abroad, may ask about the immediate feasibility of launching an ambitious strategy for digital transformation in Lebanon, at this particular time.

He added: "We do not lose hope for the future, and we are steadfast in our choices, to cross our citizens to the shore of safety, and to rise with them from the severe crises that afflict our beloved country."

Mikati stressed that "since we assumed our duties at this critical stage, we have not deviated from our goals in taking steps that lead to laying the foundations for sustainable reform in the state, adopting a comprehensive strategic vision, and targeted programs and projects to support the public administration in performing its role."

He added, "Amid the various benefits that our wounded country is betting on, we adhere more than ever to the reform entitlement, as the adoption of the digital transformation strategy represents a passage to economic growth of a different kind, and its adoption contributes to restoring lifelines to the public administration and various sectors."

Mikati stressed that "our ambition is constant to transform Lebanon into an advanced country in the field of digital services, and to restore it as a regional center for entrepreneurship, investment and tourism."
