It's a terrible drama that went all the way to the Elysée.

Emmanuel Macron expressed "all his solidarity and all his support" to the parents of the young Lola, 12, a schoolgirl murdered in Paris, whom he received on Tuesday at the Elysée Palace.

"He presented his condolences to them and assured them of all his solidarity and support in the ordeal they are going through and which upsets us all," said the Elysée.

A 24-year-old woman, the main suspect in the murder, was also indicted on Monday by a Parisian investigating judge for "murder" and "aggravated rape" and then imprisoned, three days after the discovery on Friday in a trunk in Paris of the body of the 12-year-old schoolgirl.

According to a judicial source, she was indicted for aggravated "murder of a minor under the age of 15" and "rape of a minor with acts of torture and barbarism".

A judicial investigation entrusted to three investigating magistrates relating to these two criminal offenses and the offense of concealment of a corpse was opened by the Paris prosecutor's office, said a judicial source.
