On October 17, local time, Sendai City, Miyagi Prefecture, Japan put the world's first drone tsunami warning system into trial operation. This system can automatically send drones to issue alerts when a tsunami occurs, reminding people to evacuate.

The fuselage of the drone is about 1 meter long and is connected to Japan's "National Instantaneous Warning System", which will take off automatically when a tsunami warning is issued.

It can fly at an altitude of about 50 meters over the coastal area for about 15 minutes, warning people to evacuate.

Sendai city officials said it was the world's first autonomous drone for tsunami warning, and it could be controlled through a specific communications network that was unlikely to be disrupted in the event of a disaster.
