A 23-year-old man is suspected of rape in Montpellier (Hérault).

He was arrested overnight from Sunday to Monday,

That evening, the suspect had been expelled from a bar on the Esplanade de l'Europe.

He is suspected of having been particularly insistent with several young women in this establishment.

Municipal police officers checked him when he left, and found an Opinel on him, which is an unauthorized possession of a weapon.

Placed in custody

The man was taken to the police station, where he was taken into custody.

The police then discover that the physical appearance of the individual could correspond to a man, suspected of having committed a rape, on September 27.

The contact between the victim and the suspect then took place near the same bar, on the esplanade.

Investigations are continuing at the Montpellier police station.
