For the sixth consecutive year,

the MediCinema room at the Gemelli Hospital

is one of the locations of

the Rome Film Fest:

patients admitted today were able to see the new film by

Gianni Di Gregorio, "Astolfo",

and meet its actors including, in addition to

Di Gregorio himself,

there are

Stefania Sandrelli

and

Mauro Lamantia.

The previews presented at the Policlinico, the second of which will be next Friday:

"La Stranezza", by Roberto Andò, with Toni Servillo, Salvatore Ficarra and Valentino Picone,

are aimed at

patients and their carers

, wanting to underline how the use of vision filmica can be a treatment tool in

complementary medicine

.

Being able to go to the cinema, even in hospital, can produce, in fact, a positive benefit in

reducing anxiety and stress

in patients, improving their general psycho-physical state.

Furthermore, the collective vision in the room can take on a

complementary therapeutic value

capable of influencing the experience of the disease and

act as a support for traditional rehabilitation care

The film presented today,

"Astolfo"

, is a comedy in which the

protagonists are

the

feelings, love above all.

It is the story of Astolfo, a pensioner who no longer expected anything from life and who is

evicted from his apartment

.

The man finds accommodation in

the old family home

, a ruin in a village in central Italy that was once a noble palace.

Astolfo there learns to live the life of the province;

he makes do;

he fights with the mayor;

he reunites with an old friend;

he takes a couple of wild men like him into the house and

then meets Stefania, a woman his age, and falls in love with him.

It will be the beginning of a new life, more beautiful and truer.

“Astolfo” is a story that addresses, among others, a theme dear to the director: that of the third age.

That third period of life that Di Gregorio interprets as a

time still to be lived

.

In the case of the film, through an

unexpected and delicate love

, made up of long chats, small journeys, black and white films and small, large gestures.

The two characters, played by

Stefania Sandrelli and Gianni Di Gregorio

perfectly tell a feeling that comes as pure as that of two teenagers but, at the same time, lived with the serenity of those who know how to weigh their value.
