- You will notice that it is a new course in law enforcement, immigration policy and energy policy to name three things.

Sweden has quite a few problems at the same time right now that almost all Swedes notice.

Not least the costs.

So we will change course significantly, but it will also take a while, says Ulf Kristersson.

Among the first things the government will tackle is, according to Kristersson, to introduce a high-cost protection for electricity prices as quickly as possible.

However, he thinks it is impossible that it could be in place as early as November 1, which was promised before the election.

Instead, households are promised retroactive compensation for high electricity bills.

Wants "broad agreement" on national security issues

The prime minister was also asked questions about foreign policy, where he said he was open to cooperation with the opposition.

Not least when it comes to achieving Swedish membership in the NATO defense alliance.

- Six out of eight parties support the application.

I place great value on that.

I would like to see that we could find agreement on more substantive issues.

Foreign policy is one such area where I want broad agreement on major national security issues.

Developed "deficient walking"

Another interview topic was the new government's migration policy.

In the Tidö Agreement, among other things, "lack of character" is stated as a reason why foreign citizens should not be allowed to stay in Sweden.

Ulf Kristersson had to develop what is meant:

- The concept is a bit old-fashioned, but existed until 2005. Basically, it is about the fact that it is not possible to come to Sweden as a foreign citizen and do things that are not good for Sweden.

What is meant by good for Sweden?

- It is not arbitrary.

It is about working, supporting yourself or studying.

Contribute to society in different ways, not come and take advantage of society.

Then it has to be dressed up in nice legal prose that is correct and works in courts.
