The UAE condemns the statements of the High Representative of the European Union for Foreign Affairs and Security Policy

The UAE denounced the recent statements made by Josep Borrell, High Representative of the European Union for Foreign Affairs and Security Policy, during the opening of the new European Diplomatic Academy in Bruges, Belgium, noting that any statements of this kind are inappropriate and racist.

In a statement, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation expressed its rejection of Borrell's statements, describing them as racist, noting that they contribute to the exacerbation of intolerance and discrimination at the global level.

The Ministry of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation, represented by His Excellency Mohamed Seif Al-Shehhi, Director of the European Affairs Department, and Ms. Reem Ketit, Deputy Assistant Minister for Political Affairs, summoned Mr. Emil Poulsen, Acting Head of the European Union Mission to the country, where the Office of the High Representative was requested to provide a written explanation regarding Borrell's statements Harmful and racist.
