The Alliance of Freedom and Change Forces said that the Central Council of the Alliance unanimously approved a vision to end what it called the military coup in the country, specifying that the prime minister and head of state be chosen by those he called "revolutionary forces."

The vision, which was presented at a press conference today, Monday, endorsed the need to reform the military and security system according to a specific time matrix, according to the coalition, and also recognized the importance of reviewing the Juba Peace Agreement.

According to the vision, a completely civilian-led authority will be formed to lead the transitional period leading up to the elections, after intensifying efforts to end the 11-month stalemate between the army that rules the country and pro-democracy forces.

Under the vision, the army will be removed from the political scene and the Council of Ministers, while the Sovereignty Council, which represented the head of the state, will be entirely composed of civilian personalities chosen by the "revolutionary forces."

The coalition added that the transitional parliament will include all parties and groups except for the party of former President Omar al-Bashir, the National Congress Party, and this measure will continue for up to two years before the elections.

According to the vision, the agreement will also allow for security sector reform and the formation of a civilian-led Security and Defense Council headed by the prime minister and including representatives from the army and other elements in the security sector.

Earlier this summer, army leaders said they intended to exit the political scene, and leaders of the Forces for Freedom and Change reported that they had been informed that the army had approved a draft constitution put forward by the Sudanese Bar Association that would allow for civilian rule.

The leader of the Sudanese Forces of Freedom and Change, Khaled Omar Youssef, said that the coalition and the signatories to the draft transitional constitution for the Steering Committee of the Bar Association and the Armed Movements will be part of the political solution.

Omar described the acceptance by the military component of the transitional constitution of the Administrative Bar Association as a positive matter.
