The United Nations announced today, Monday, that the death toll of tribal clashes in the state of Blue Nile in southeastern Sudan last week has risen to 13.

Last Thursday, fighting erupted in the village of Wad Al-Mahi between the Hausa tribe and the Funj tribe due to a land dispute.

The United Nations Office for the Coordination of Humanitarian Affairs in Sudan (OCHA) said in a report published today: "The violence has left about 13 people dead and 24 injured, and the situation is still tense and its developments cannot be expected."
