Head of state discusses with Zelensky the latest developments in the Ukrainian crisis

Yesterday, His Highness Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, President of the State, made a phone call with the President of the friendly Republic of Ukraine, Volodymyr Zelensky.

During the call, the two sides discussed friendship and cooperation relations between the two countries, in addition to the developments in the Ukrainian crisis and the importance of working to reduce tension and escalation by resorting to dialogue and diplomatic solutions.

 In this context, His Highness Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan stressed that the UAE will do everything in its power to prevent the crisis from worsening, and to help create the atmosphere for calm and negotiation for the benefit of all parties, stressing that the serious repercussions of the Ukrainian crisis do not stop at Russia and Ukraine only. Rather, it extends to all parts of the world, and it negatively affects the global economy and international peace and security.

During the call, His Highness thanked the Ukrainian president for his confidence in the UAE's efforts as a mediator in humanitarian and food security issues and others, stressing the country's readiness to continue efforts and support initiatives that would mitigate the humanitarian and economic repercussions of the crisis.

During the call, His Highness and President Volodymyr Zelensky exchanged congratulations on the occasion of the 30th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between the UAE and Ukraine, expressing their wishes for the two countries' relations to continue development and prosperity to serve their mutual interests and meet the aspirations of their peoples.
