It is noted that tourists must provide documents on the availability of financial resources for the duration of their stay in the Schengen area.

“Only up-to-date extracts issued in the name of the applicant from a verifiable bank operating in EU member states can be accepted for consideration,” the text says.

Earlier, the European Commission published updated recommendations for EU member states to tighten the issuance of short-term Schengen visas to Russians.

According to the European Commissioner for Internal Affairs, Ylva Johansson, the EC recommended that the EU countries not accept applications from Russian citizens for visas submitted in third countries.
