The Board of Audit and Inspection began an audit of the Ministry of Trade, Industry and Energy to look into the progress of the new and renewable energy business during the Moon Jae-in administration.

The Industrial Finance Division 1 of the Board of Audit and Inspection announced that it would audit the 'renewable energy business progress' for about a month over two rounds (October 17 - November 4, and November 14 - December 2).

The Board of Audit and Inspection explained that the purpose of the project is "to induce effective business promotion of new and renewable energy business."

The Board of Audit and Inspection dispatched 10 investigators to the government complex in Sejong to conduct investigations on the Electricity Industry Policy Division, the Renewable Energy Policy Division, and the Renewable Energy Industry Division of the Ministry of Trade, Industry and Energy.

It is known that the Board of Audit and Inspection plans to increase the number of investigation personnel to about three times by gradually expanding the scope of investigation.

The Board of Audit and Inspection previously announced the audit operation plan for the second half of the year, including the new and renewable energy business audit, at the audit committee meeting on August 23, saying, "We will improve the stability and efficiency of energy supply and demand by reviewing the progress of the new and renewable energy business, which has recently increased the proportion of power generation." I have stated.

This was interpreted as meaning that the Moon Jae-in administration would look into the process of implementing the nuclear power-free policy, which was criticized for causing an imbalance in energy supply and demand because it was pursued at a speedy pace.

In March last year, the Board of Audit and Inspection announced the results of an energy audit targeting the Ministry of Industry, etc. and said, "There are no procedural problems."
