The Ministry of Education has approved training models for the Arabic language in the Emirates Standardized Test “Injaz” for 12th grade students, including an explanation of the test, its content, areas of assessment, the topics assigned to it, and how the grades are distributed according to each category.

The ministry explained that the Arabic language test is a standard electronic test, which measures the extent to which students possess the skills of reading comprehension and writing in Arabic upon completion of the general education stage, and before joining higher education institutions, i.e. 12th graders or its equivalent in foreign curricula.

The ministry explained that the test was built based on the national standards for teaching and evaluating the Arabic language in the country, and the test consists of three main sections. It deals with cultural, scientific, social, and economic topics. After reading the texts, the student must answer sets of questions of the type of multiple test. It measures students' performance indicators according to the criteria for assessing reading skill.

The second section is the structure of language and vocabulary and includes a set of questions that measure students’ skills in grammar, morphology and spelling, as well as their knowledge of the vocabulary commonly used in their age stage, and it has been confirmed that these vocabulary is suitable for the local culture and is useful for academic content.

As for the third and final section, it is the writing that includes one writing task for a persuasive text on one of the topics that tolerate two different points of view, and it constitutes 30% of the total score for the test.

The ministry set the time allocated for the test to 120 minutes, including 35 minutes for the first and second sections, and 50 minutes for the third section, bringing the total number of questions to 90.

The areas of student assessment in the EmSAT Arabic language test focus on measuring 13 different skills such as understanding texts, comprehension and ability to retrieve them, analyzing ideas and building inferences, integration of ideas and information integration, evaluation and content criticism.

As well as focus, organization, interconnection of ideas, employing language rules, employing narration and dialogue techniques, and using evidence and evidence in writing informational texts.

Among the skills that the test monitors are also the employment of grammar, morphology, and spelling, and the acquisition and use of vocabulary.
