UN General Assembly resolution condemns 'Russian annexation of territory'... 143 countries in favor

A resolution condemning Russia's illegal annexation of Ukraine's territory has been adopted by the UN General Assembly.

Member countries passed the resolution condemning Russia with 143 votes in favor, 5 against, and 35 abstentions, at an emergency special general meeting held at the United Nations headquarters in New York on the 12th local time.

The resolution included the content that Russia's referendums held in four regions of Ukraine, including Donetsk, Luhansk, Zaporiza and Kherson, were illegal under international law and would not recognize the annexation declaration.
