The National Police investigates a new violent episode with the seal of the gangs.

A 21-year-old Spanish national was seriously injured last Monday night after being

attacked by several Dominican boys who could belong to the DDP gang and who ambushed him.

The victim received up to 11 punctures in the arm with an awl, a blow to the head and several blows to the body that he was able to cushion by defending himself with a backpack, according to the Police report.

He was evacuated to Coslada Hospital.

The Superior Police Headquarters confirms the attack and that there were several witnesses who indicated that the aggressors could be from youth gangs.

The events occurred last Monday at 10:15 p.m. when

the 21-year-old left work at his company in the Coslada industrial estate and was heading towards the Central Renfe Cercanía station.

At the corner of Calle León Felipe and Calle Luis Braille, four people surrounded him, two of them Dominicans, according to witnesses.

According to the victim, they first asked for tobacco and then one of them took out an awl and began to stab him in the arm, while the others brandished machetes, a stick and a screwdriver with which they attacked him.

The young man

was able to stop the aggressor with the machete with his backpack, but he could not avoid the injuries to his arm and that they hit him in the head.

Several people found the victim bleeding from the head and one of the arms and called 112. The first to arrive were the Coslada Municipal Police officers.

The young man was transferred by a basic Summa ambulance to Coslada Hospital.

According to the first inquiries, the aggressors could be DDP from the Embajadores neighborhood who went to look for him at his work from Madrid in

a possible settling of accounts between gangs that the Police is investigating.

According to the same sources, the victim appears to be involved in an incident between youth gangs and

has several police records for a fight, fraud and injuries.

The case is being investigated by the Coslada Judicial Police group, which suspects that both the victim and the alleged aggressors are part of youth gangs.

At the moment, there are no arrests.

The initial police report indicated that the young man suffered 20 injuries to his arm as a result of the attack with an awl, a star screwdriver and a machete.

The backpack that the victim was carrying was destroyed

when the young man used it to defend himself from the blows.

Last Monday eight months of the plan against youth gangs in Madrid were completed, which has resulted in

1,200 arrests, almost 92,000 identifications and 500 weapons seized

.

The Government Delegation launched this plan at the end of last year to stop the escalation of violence by youth gangs, and reinforced it with the deployment of more than 500 police officers on the streets after the murders of two young people aged 15 and 25 in Atocha and Usera on the night of February 5.

Since last February, five crimes have been recorded with the seal of the Latin gangs, a figure that could be increased if it is confirmed that the deadly shooting in Fuenlabrada last week is the product of a confrontation between Trinitarios and DDP.
