According to the IAEA Director General, citing the operator of the power plant, the shutdown was provoked by shelling of a distant substation.
Earlier, Vladimir Rogov, a member of the main council of the administration of the Zaporozhye region, said that the Zaporozhye nuclear power plant had automatically switched to diesel generators due to shelling by the Ukrainian military.
