A resolution condemning Russia's forced annexation of Ukraine's territory has been passed by the UN General Assembly.

While more than 140 countries supported the resolution, only five countries, including North Korea, voted against it.

A resolution condemning Russia's forcible annexation of Ukraine's territory was passed by a vote of 143 to 5 in favor and 35 abstentions in a vote at the UN General Assembly, where each country uses one vote.



South Korea, the United States, Europe, and Japan, which were jointly proposed the resolution, voted in favor, while Russia, North Korea, Belarus, and Syria voted against it.



China, India and Pakistan abstained.



The resolution passed today (13th) included the content that Russia's claim to annex Ukraine's territory would be an illegal act that had no effect under international law and would not be recognized, along with a request for Russia's immediate withdrawal.
