China News Agency, Moscow, October 12 (Reporter Tian Bing) Russian President Vladimir Putin delivered a speech at the "Russian Energy Week" international forum on the 12th, saying that despite Western sanctions, Russia will not compromise and will continue to ensure energy security and stability.

According to the Kremlin website, Putin said that global energy is facing unprecedented challenges and problems.

He pointed out that the sabotage of the Nord Stream-1 and Nord Stream-2 natural gas pipelines is undoubtedly an act of international terrorism, the purpose of which is to undermine the energy security of the entire European continent.

The attack on the Nord Stream pipeline sets a dangerous precedent, showing that no matter where it is or who controls it, any critical transportation, energy or communications infrastructure will be under security threat.

Putin said that Russia is still ready to export energy within the framework of the contract.

He said repairing the three damaged pipelines at Nord Stream was possible, but only made sense if it could continue to operate and be safe.

He proposed that if Europe is willing, Russia can supply gas to Europe through the undamaged Nord Stream-2 pipeline, with a capacity of 27.5 billion cubic meters per year, accounting for about 8% of Europe's total natural gas imports.

"The ball is now on the EU side."

He said that the Nord Stream project has no political background and is purely a commercial project involving Russian and European companies on an equal basis, which means that the fate of Nord Stream should be jointly decided by Russian and EU partners.

Putin said that if partners are interested, Russia can build a "hub" for gas supply to Europe in Turkey and transfer the interrupted gas transmission of the "Nord Stream" pipeline to the Black Sea region, thus establishing the main route for gas supply to Europe through Turkey.

In addition, Russia will continue to expand the volume and scope of energy exports to rapidly developing markets.

In the near future, the construction of key infrastructure projects will be identified and launched, including promising projects such as the "Power of Siberia-2" natural gas pipeline and its Mongolian section "Oriental Union", and connecting the gas transmission in Asia and Europe system to continue to support LNG terminal projects.

Putin said that the current Russian oil production has overcome the decline, even slightly higher than last year.

Russia plans to maintain the current level of oil exports and production by 2025, and domestic equipment in the industry will account for 80%.

He emphasized that Russia will not go against common sense to pay for the well-being of others, and will not export energy to these countries in accordance with the price caps set by certain countries.

Putin pointed out that Russia is one of the main players in the global energy market.

Russia's oil and gas extraction and export, as well as electricity and coal production are among the highest in the world.

Although Russia has been subjected to sanctions, pressure and damage from the West in the field of infrastructure, it will not compromise its position.

Russia will continue to ensure energy security and stability and will cooperate with those interested in it.
