The situation will "return to normal" in "the course of the coming week", promised the president.

But "if the social dialogue does not succeed in the next few hours, we will requisition".

The Head of State again called for "responsibility" from the management of TotalEnergies and the CGT, warning: "Let the CGT allow the country to function".

The crisis "has nothing to do with the war" in Ukraine, he further argued: "It is about social conflicts in two companies, Exxon and Total".

Ukraine

Russian President Vladimir Putin "must end this war, respect the territorial integrity of Ukraine and return to the discussion table", said Mr. Macron, criticizing his counterpart for having made the "choice" to 'to install' Europe 'in the war'.

"We will deliver radars, systems and anti-aircraft missiles to protect (the Ukrainians) from attacks, in particular to protect them from drone attacks," he said.

But, "at some point, I hope as soon as possible, all the stakeholders will have to come back to a discussion table", even if according to the president it will probably not be in the "next weeks".

A negotiation would ultimately also be in kyiv's "interests", he said.

For his part, Belarusian President Alexander Lukashenko will have "problems" in his country if he "decided to engage even more in this war".

Iran

"We stand alongside those" who demonstrate in Iran, assured Mr. Macron.

“I very simply want to express my admiration for these women, these young people” and, “in a very clear way”, France “condemns the repression carried out today by the Iranian regime”.

He also described as "hostages" the five French people detained in Iran.

Armenia

"Russia used" the conflict between Armenia and Azerbaijan, the president said.

"She obviously played the game of Azerbaijan, with Turkish complicity, and she came back there to weaken Armenia," he said.

For Mr. Macron "it is a maneuver to destabilize Russia which, in the Caucasus, seeks to create disorder to weaken and divide us all".
