Now the electricity price is 40 öre per kilowatt hour for the tenants, but after the New Year the price may rise to 3 kroner per kilowatt hour.

Wallenstam's tenants do not have the opportunity to sign an electricity contract themselves, but it is the property company that decides which supplier applies.

- You are completely in the hands of how Wallenstam does this procurement with an electricity company, says Erik Elmgren.

Wallenstam owns almost 12,000 homes in Stockholm, Uppsala and Gothenburg - of which around 6,000 are in Stockholm.

The electricity price can be reduced

SVT Stockholm has tried to reach Wallenstam for a comment, without success.

But Elisabeth Vansvik, communications director Wallenstam, told SVT Uppsala yesterday that another assessment will be made in December before the agreement is finalized.

- We will make a reconciliation as late as possible to see if we can lower the price.

We will do this on December 15, which we have also notified the tenants.

And should the market price be lower then we will adjust the price downwards, but not upwards, Elisabeth Vansvik said yesterday.
