Björn Söder confirms to GP on Wednesday that he, former deputy speaker, is expected to be appointed chairman at 12 o'clock on Thursday, a mission of honor in his eyes.

- It is great fun and an honor to have the opportunity to lead the delegation's work.

I have been in the delegation for eight years, so I have extensive experience of the work in the OSCE Parliamentary Assembly.

It is a fine trust assignment that must be handled carefully and with respect, says Söder to the newspaper.

The OSCE consists of 57 countries in Europe, Central Asia and North America and is tasked with strengthening trust and cooperation between member countries in order to prevent conflicts, but also to seek solutions to conflicts that have already developed.

"No decisive difference"

Björn Söder says that as chairman he will maintain Sweden's approach in the organization.

- I do not see this as anything controversial at all and do not see that there will be any decisive difference, he says to GP and continues:

- It's about keeping the delegation together.

Each individual member does not have a party to relate to, but you are there and act as an individual member.
