“A transparent investigation is needed”: why the West is preventing Russia from finding out the circumstances of the emergency at Nord Stream

Sweden refused to allow Russia to investigate the explosions at Nord Stream, but at the same time allowed an American expert.

This was stated by Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov.

“Just yesterday, a representative of the Swedish government said that “yes, we are conducting a preliminary investigation together with the Danes, the Germans, but we will not let the Russians in there.”

That is, they are investigating the damage caused to our property, they keep us on the sidelines and do not want to show us anything, so that, God forbid, we probably do not find out the truth.

At the same time, there was a message that American experts would participate in the process of processing the data that they receive there ... Here are double standards for you, please, ”he said on the air of the Rossiya 1 TV channel.

The fact that Russian specialists are not allowed to investigate the circumstances around the explosions on the strings of gas pipelines was also announced on October 10 by Russian President Vladimir Putin.

“As you know, representatives of Russia are not allowed to investigate the causes of explosions and destruction of international gas transmission systems passing along the bottom of the Baltic Sea.

But we are all well aware of the ultimate beneficiary of this crime,” Vladimir Putin said during an operational meeting with permanent members of the Security Council.

Earlier, the Russian leader stressed that Anglo-Saxon forces were involved in organizing the explosions on the highways.

According to Nikolai Patrushev, Secretary of the Security Council of the Russian Federation, the United States is the beneficiary of the sabotage at Nord Stream.

As noted, in turn, by the press secretary of the President of Russia Dmitry Peskov, it is impossible to conduct an objective investigation of explosions on pipelines without the participation of the Russian Federation.

The Russian Foreign Ministry also reacted to the non-admission of Moscow to the investigation.

“This is a classic of the genre.

This is what first of all, even before the analysis of the motive, says that, therefore, there is something to hide.

They do not allow the owner to investigate, which means they are hiding something from him, ”said the official representative of the Russian Foreign Ministry, Maria Zakharova, during a briefing.

Recall that the attacks on two gas pipelines at once, Nord Stream 1 and Nord Stream 2, occurred on September 26 at sections near the Danish island of Bornholm.

Germany, Denmark and Sweden do not rule out targeted sabotage.

The Swedish Security Service reported that "explosions occurred near the pipelines, as a result of which significant damage was caused to the gas pipelines."

As Der Spiegel writes, the German Prosecutor General's Office said that at present there are enough actual signs that the gas pipelines were deliberately damaged by several explosions.

At the same time, the idea is being actively promoted in the West that Russia is allegedly involved in the terrorist attacks on the Nord Streams.

This was stated by Russian Ambassador to Italy Sergei Razov, calling statements of this kind "Russophobic propaganda."

“Now there are these speculations that the Russians themselves blew up their gas pipeline.

The fact that Western countries attacked Nord Streams was previously stated by a retired American colonel, ex-adviser to the head of the Pentagon, Douglas McGregor.

According to him, the highways are strong enough due to their design, which means that hundreds of kilograms of TNT were needed to undermine them.

As Vladimir Bruter, an expert at the International Institute for Humanitarian and Political Studies, noted, Russia is not allowed to investigate what happened at Nord Stream so that, based on its results, “a certain specified result” could be reported to the world community.

“Countries investigating terrorist attacks on these sites will accept their conclusion.

They do not need Moscow to know what they are doing there.

They do not want Russia to receive any information at all.

But in order to say exactly what happened there, a very qualified, long-term and transparent, open investigation with the participation of the Russian Federation is needed.

Naturally, the West does not need this,” the analyst said.

At the same time, according to Bruter, it is no coincidence that American specialists were involved in the investigation of the state of emergency on highways.

“They were invited so that the United States was aware of all the details and could lead the process, possibly advise on the concealment of any facts.

It is possible that the arrows will be artificially transferred to Russia, but it is completely clear that the terrorist attacks on gas pipelines were in no way in the interests of the Russian Federation, ”the expert noted.

A similar opinion is shared by the deputy director of the Institute for Strategic Studies and Forecasts of the Peoples' Friendship University of Russia, a member of the Public Chamber of Russia Nikita Danyuk.

According to him, the West does not intend to allow Russia to be investigated, since it is behind this sabotage.

But in the West, apparently, they have completely forgotten about such obligations and rules.

They act based on their political interests, ”he said in a comment to RT.

According to Pravosudov, it is theoretically possible to repair the Nord Streams and put them into operation, however, it is difficult to predict how things will be in practice.

“It is not known how long Western countries will not allow the Russian Federation to its property.

Perhaps they will deliberately play for time so that sea water causes as much damage as possible to gas pipelines, ”the expert concluded.
