Angela Lansbury, the British actress who played in the famous television series “Murder, She Wrote”, in Italian “La Signora in giallo”, died at the age of 96.

This was reported by the American media citing the announcement of her made by her family.

"Dame Angela Lansbury's children are sad to announce that their mother has passed away sleeping in her home in Los Angeles, just five days after her 97th birthday," the family said in a statement.

Born on October 16, 1925, Lansbury fled England during the war and at the age of 17 she was already dedicated to musicals, while at 19 she was already under contract with MGM in Hollywood.

In her long career she has been the infallible detective of The Lady in Yellow.

But also the fearsome maid who torments Ingrid Bergman in Anguish and the elder sister of the very young Liz Taylor in the Grand Prix.
