The FDP is enthusiastic: "Even Greta Thunberg is in favor of the continued operation of the German nuclear power plants." According to Federal Minister of Justice Marco Buschmann.

Well then.

With this highest imaginable blessing, the nuclear power plants must continue to operate.

But the FDP cannot do that.

Whether the traffic light coalition in the federal government has “lost its legitimacy overall” because of the result of the Lower Saxony elections, as party chairman Christian Lindner says, whether one really has to draw conclusions from others here, can be left open insofar as the alliance is at the mercy of one another.

No comprehensive re-entry

In view of the large scale, the nuclear question does not appear to be particularly important.

In view of the widespread skepticism, it is not necessarily a self-perpetuating winner for the FDP.

But when the situation worsens, the question will arise as to why not all available options are used to generate electricity, whatever its "color".

The fact that continued operation is more environmentally friendly than that of coal-fired power plants has also gotten around among ideologues.

In addition, the embarrassment of importing nuclear power to keep your conscience clear is reduced.

Nobody thinks of a comprehensive re-entry.

But what is true for every other technology and form of energy generation should also be true for nuclear power: it is a bridge.

Those who do not enter it, even in an emergency, must bear the consequences.
