"Install hundreds of thousands of wind turbines in Dabancheng, manufacture Chinese's own wind turbines, and let Chinese wind turbines go to the world." Xinjiang Goldwind Technology Co., Ltd. (hereinafter referred to as "Goldwind Technology") Party Secretary, Chairman, President Engineer Wuhan Iron and Steel recently said in an interview with a reporter from Chinanews.com that these were his "three dreams".

WISCO said that the process of realizing these "three dreams" is a microcosm of China's wind power industry's faltering from the initial stage to today's independent self-improvement. It is also driven by electrical innovation and rapid development of China's wind industry. A vivid interpretation of economy, reliability and overall competitiveness of the industry reaching a new level.

Dabancheng, Urumqi, Xinjiang, which was famous for its strong winds in the past, is the place where WISCO pursues its dreams and is also the cradle of China's wind power industry.

35 years ago, WISCO chose to be a "wind chaser", and he took over as the director of Dabancheng Wind Farm.

At that time, China's wind power industry was in the ascendant, and Dabancheng was an "experimental field" for this industry.

Wuhan Iron and Steel recalled that in the early days of the business, most of the wind turbines in China were still imported, resulting in high prices, high failure rates and high maintenance costs.

This situation of being controlled by others made him secretly make up his mind that he must create his own wind turbine.

The hard work paid off, the localization rate of the first wind turbine they developed was 33%, and by the time the tenth unit was put into production, the localization rate had reached 96%.

But Wuhan Iron and Steel is not satisfied with this.

In 2005, he led the 1.2MW direct-drive permanent magnet wind turbine developed by Goldwind to trial operation in Dabancheng Wind Power Plant in Xinjiang.

This is China's first megawatt-level wind turbine with independent intellectual property rights. As a result, China's wind turbine manufacturing technology "has improved to a higher level" and can compete with international leading technologies.

Today, Goldwind is accelerating the technological transformation of smart fan products. The units adopt the technical route of direct-drive permanent magnet and medium-speed permanent magnet "two-wheel drive", and the products have achieved a comprehensive upgrade of intelligence in terms of smart perception, smart diagnosis, and smart collaboration.

Today, the "big windmill" that rotates in the wind has become a new synonym for Dabancheng, and the Dabancheng Wind District has become a "model room" for China's wind power industry. The strong wind is transformed into green electricity to illuminate thousands of households.

"From import to independent innovation to achieve localization, my country's wind power industry has risen independently. The initial blank sheet of paper has become a splendid picture, and the rice bowl of energy has gradually been held in our own hands." Wu Gang said.

WISCO also said that since the 18th National Congress of the Communist Party of China, China's wind power industry has made remarkable achievements, and its role in the global new energy equipment pattern has become increasingly prominent. Complete wind power equipment manufacturing industry chain with supporting services.

At the same time, China's wind power is also actively "going out", making contributions to the global energy transition.

Over the years, Goldwind has been based in Xinjiang, and has expanded to the whole country and even the world.

In September this year, Goldwind successfully signed a contract for the Zarafshan 500MW wind power project in Uzbekistan, achieving a major breakthrough in the Uzbekistan market.

According to reports, this project is Goldwind's largest single project in Uzbekistan and even in Central Asia. After completion, it will significantly improve the local power structure, meet the power needs of 500,000 Uzbek households, and reduce carbon dioxide emissions by 1.1 million tons per year.

WISCO said that the reserves of wind energy resources in the countries around Xinjiang are also very rich. It can organically combine the equipment manufacturing industry in Xinjiang with the energy transformation of the surrounding countries, and promote the economic development of Xinjiang through energy links. The future has broad prospects.

According to statistics, up to now, Goldwind has installed over 45,000 wind turbines in the world with a capacity of over 89GW, and its business covers 38 countries and regions in the world and 30 provinces, autonomous regions and municipalities in China.

It has maintained the first market share in China's wind power equipment industry for 11 consecutive years, and has ranked among the top three in the global wind power equipment industry market for 7 consecutive years, accounting for 60% of China's wind turbine export market share.
