Mass grave found in liberated city - 50 bodies have been exhumed

Ukrainian authorities state that several mass graves have been found around the city of Lyman.

In the latest grave, which is now being excavated, both civilians and Ukrainian soldiers have been found.

According to the governor of Donetsk, there are possible traces of torture on the bodies found.

- We can only comment on this when the experts have done their part.

When we find people with hands tied behind their backs, facial injuries and blindfolds, it can be a sign of torture, says Pavlo Kyrlenko.

Mass graves in several cities

Mass graves have been discovered in several areas reclaimed by Ukraine.

In the city of Izium, over 400 people had been buried in unmarked mass graves.

According to Ukraine, evidence of both torture and extrajudicial executions has been found when the graves were examined.
