Macabre discovery this afternoon in Trecate, in the Novara area: some passing hunters have found bones, most likely human remains, in a wood along the Ticino river, in Bosco Marino.

The Novara carabinieri intervened on the spot and fenced off the area together with the local police, waiting for all the surveys on the area to be carried out.

A specialized team will intervene tomorrow to collect evidence and remove the remains.

According to the first hypotheses, it could be human bones of a person who died many months ago.

The body may have been dragged by the waters of the river, but it is not excluded that there may have been a concealment of the body, or that some hiker died at that point.

The area is not far from the bridge over the river that connects Piedmont to Lombardy.

The area has been cordoned off and is guarded by the carabinieri.

Tomorrow morning the arrival of a specialized team of the weapon is expected to recover the remains.
