A 31-year-old VTC driver was arrested at his home in Limeil-Brévannes (Val-de-Marne) this Sunday morning.

The individual is accused of raping an American woman, also 31, who used the Uber app to get home.

Once the client was taken care of, the thirty-something would in fact have driven her home;

An investigation for "rape with the administration of a substance to the victim, without his knowledge, to alter his discernment or the control of his actions" has been initiated, said the prosecution.

The young woman said that the suspect had forced her to follow him to his accommodation and that she had no memory afterwards, except that of waking up naked.

The American claimed that the suspect was practicing sexual touching on her person.

She then alerted the emergency services, who found her in the lobby of the building and who took over the suspect's apartment.

The latter was taken into custody.

The young woman, meanwhile, underwent medical examinations.
