The working environment for the staff at the ambulance station in Lycksele has been so bad that a protective shutdown was recently introduced.

The response time then increased from 90 seconds to five minutes.

On October 6, new personnel spaces were determined and the response time returned to 90 seconds.

The fact that they are temporary is due both to the fact that they are too small and that they are not close enough to the vehicles.

- The temporary staff spaces where we sit now are old emergency rooms and we are still waiting for new, better premises.

We don't know how long we will have to wait, as it looks now, we will probably stay for the rest of the month, says Victoria Gustavsson, protection officer.

"On the way to getting better"

According to the business manager, the protective stop has now been lifted for the business.

- You feel that something is happening and that things are about to get better.

We hope that we will not have to return to the old premises, but nothing is certain at the moment, says Victoria Gustavsson.

According to the director of operations at the ambulance service in Västerbotten, Stian Kvalvik, there is no risk that the staff will have to return to the old premises.

- We have found solutions that will work for a while to come and we think we have solved the problem from last week.

We will have a meeting tomorrow and we are looking for opportunities both high and low so then we will know more about the long-term plans, he says.
