The Colombian artist Angela Atuesta, known by her nickname "La Negra", took three days to create this XXL fresco on a wall in the Croix de Pierre district in Toulouse.

Painted as part of the Latino Graff festival, it carried a message on inequalities, regularly addressed by this committed artist.

It read "as long as someone bears the weight of our privileges, no one will be truly free."

A few days ago, this fresco was vandalized, "sullied with identity slogans and insults", deplores the organizers of the festival on their social networks.

The inscription was covered and the authors of the defacement tagged "woke = degenerate".

“Cover this hateful mud”

The artist reacted by indicating that it gave her even more “desire and energy not to stop talking about these subjects”, she indicated on her Instagram account.

The leaders of Latino Graff, attached to the values of "sharing and tolerance" are launching a call for solidarity to restore the work and make an appointment this Wednesday at 4 p.m., at the foot of the wall "to cover this hateful mud" .
