Tuesday, September 27, a police officer was seriously injured by a scooter rider after refusing to comply during an operation around a deal point, Croix-Bonneau district in Nantes.

Friday, the young man who drove the two-wheeler, finally arrested several days after fleeing, was sentenced to 17 months in prison, reports the newspaper

.

Already known to justice, the 18-year-old defendant admitted his involvement in the accident, but said he did not want to hurt the policeman.

The victim, who suffered from a double open fracture of the leg, told the audience that he had "seen himself die".

The scooter driver was therefore sentenced to one year in prison, a sentence to which are added five months of suspended sentence revocation for previous convictions.
