“Against the backdrop of a deepening energy crisis in Europe, the conflict of interest between the US and the EU has not only tested their relationship, but also pointed to a sign of weakening and precariousness of US global hegemony,” the publication says.

According to the publication, there was a huge divergence of interests between the United States and the European Union, despite the fact that the White House planned to use the conflict in Ukraine to strengthen existing alliances and create new ones.

In addition, according to the Global Times, dissatisfaction is growing in European countries because of the benefits that Washington derives from the situation, in particular in the energy sector.

“The dissatisfaction of European countries with the sharp rise in prices for LNG from the United States exposes the fact that the interests of the States conflict with the interests of many other countries around the world.

These conflicts point to the decline of American hegemony,” summed up GT.

Iranian President Ibrahim Raisi, speaking at the 77th session of the UN General Assembly (GA), said earlier that the United States prioritizes only its own interests, not accepting the right of other states to act independently.

Russian President Vladimir Putin noted that Western countries are trying to maintain hegemony by implementing containment policies, undermining any alternative development paths for other countries.

According to Putin, the special military operation in Ukraine marked the beginning of the breakdown of the American world order and the transition to a truly multipolar world, which is based not on the liberal globalist egocentrism of the United States, but on the true sovereignty of the peoples.
