Sweden stands out and has the worst situation in Europe when it comes to firearm violence.

- The researchers do not know what causes it.

Our view is that it is because we have a violence driven by status and prestige.

The smallest misdemeanor leads to deadly violence, says Deputy National Police Chief Johan Olsson in SVT Agenda.

The number of police officers in Sweden has increased steadily over the past five years.

Changes in the law have also made it easier for the police to become more efficient.

Nevertheless, the violence is increasing.

- Fundamentally, we have to improve and develop our working methods, we have a completely new type of crime in Sweden when criminal gangs use encryption apps that cannot be intercepted in Sweden

Johan Olsson believes that the police are at the beginning of the growth phase that is needed and is now happening.

- Many of the legislative proposals we have requested are now being investigated, but most and the most important ones are not in place yet.
