  At 10:00 a.m. local time on the 6th, Lazaro and his entourage took a special car to the minefield near the "Blue Line" on the Lebanese-Israeli border to listen to the basic situation of the Chinese peacekeeping force in Lebanon and the report on mine clearance work.

Afterwards, Lazaro entered the minefield wearing protective gear, talked with the officers and soldiers of the minesweeper and took a group photo.

  Lazaro said that the Chinese mine clearance team is a highly professional, disciplined and committed team that has maintained a record of "zero accidents" and "zero casualties", providing important support for maintaining peace and stability in the South Lebanon region.

He said that China plays an important role in maintaining world peace, and thanked China for its contribution to the UN peacekeeping in Lebanon.

  Lazaro officially took over as the commander of UNIFIL on February 28 this year. His visit on the 6th was his first visit to the minefield of the Chinese peacekeeping force since taking office.

  Since China dispatched peacekeeping troops to Lebanon in 2006, it has so far dispatched more than 7,000 peacekeepers, cleared more than 15,000 landmines and various types of unexploded ordnance, provided more than 87,000 medical assistance to the local area, and maintained peace in southern Lebanon.
