Yemen.. Militias escalate combat on 5 fronts

The Houthi militia escalated its combat operations on 5 fronts, namely, Lahj, Hajjah, Taiz, the western coast and Marib, and launched attacks and infiltration attempts under a large fire cover, which prompted the Presidential Command Council to hold an emergency meeting to discuss developments in the political situation and military resolution.

Field sources in the Yafa district of Lahj governorate stated that the southern forces, backed by units of the security forces, managed to repel an attack launched by the Houthi militia during the past hours on their positions in the "Al-Had Yafa" area between the governorates of Lahj and Al-Bayda.

The sources confirmed that 5 soldiers were killed and others wounded in the Houthi attack, while the attack was repelled and Houthi infiltration attempts in the area were thwarted, noting that the Houthis incurred many deaths and injuries, while others were captured, including African mercenaries fighting in the Houthi ranks.

The official spokesman for the southern forces, Lt. Col. Muhammad al-Naqib, said that the armed forces in the "Al-Had Yafa" front had inflicted heavy losses on the Houthi militias, during the breaking of the Houthi attack, which is the largest and most extensive on the region in months, and the second since the Houthis refused to sign the extension of the armistice.

The Presidential Council, in its meeting held yesterday in the Saudi capital, Riyadh, in the presence of the heads of parliaments, the Shura Council, the ministers, and the Reconciliation Commission, reiterated its adherence to the approach of a just, comprehensive and sustainable peace that meets the aspirations of the Yemeni people to restore state institutions and end the coup of the Iranian-backed Houthi militias.

He held the Houthi militias responsible for neglecting the great benefits that the truce brought to the citizens in their areas of control, to confirm the extent of their dependence on the Iranian regime, and to give priority to the interest of this regime and its subversive project over the interests of the Yemeni people, denouncing the terrorist threats adopted by the Houthi militia leaders against national sovereign institutions and neighboring countries. and international shipping lines, stressing the state's commitment to defending the country's supreme interests, and deterring any hostile escalation.
