A U.S. Navy reconnaissance aircraft flew near the Nord Stream 2 gas pipeline breach in the Baltic Sea hours after the first damage appeared, Reuters reported, citing equipment movement data.

The agency clarified that Washington "called the flight routine."

Russian Security Council Secretary Nikolai Patrushev previously called the United States the main beneficiaries of the Nord Stream explosions.

Press Secretary of the President of Russia Dmitry Peskov recalled that in February, US President Joe Biden promised to get rid of Nord Stream 2.

As White House spokesperson Karine Jean-Pierre explained, Biden promised not to destroy the Nord Stream 2 gas pipeline, but not to allow it to be put into operation.
