Britain is bracing for power cuts this winter.

The countries of the European Union have already agreed to reduce their consumption of gas by 10% and electricity by 15% in order to avoid possible blackouts.

They invited the British to do the same.

But Liz Truss refuses to ask her population to ration.

The UK has good energy reserves and is in much better condition than many other countries says the Prime Minister.

Liz Truss wants to be reassuring and far from current issues.

The country can winter.

The lights will stay on.

No information campaign

A public information campaign was prepared to encourage people to save energy, but was ultimately rejected by Downing Street.

However, the Prime Minister does not rule out the possibility of a power cut if the country cannot import enough energy since, in retaliation for the sanctions linked to the war in Ukraine, Vladimir Putin is limiting gas deliveries.

Three-hour cuts?

Yesterday, Thursday October 6, National Grid, the British electricity network manager warned: three scenarios are possible this winter.

The worst, which remains unlikely, are power cuts of three hours in a row for households and businesses.

A measure which has not been used since the 1970s and which must first be approved by the government and the king.
