On the 7th, the Ukrainian parliament adopted a resolution confirming that the Northern Territories were Japanese territories occupied by Russia. It seems that there is an aim to strengthen the pressure on Russia by doing so.

In response to Russia's military invasion of Ukraine, Japan, along with Western countries, has imposed sanctions against Russia. I'm here.

Under these circumstances, the Ukrainian parliament adopted a resolution on the 7th confirming that the Northern Territories are Japanese territories occupied by Russia.

The resolution states, "We support Japan's position on the Northern Territories. The international community should take all possible steps to establish the legal status of the Northern Territories as belonging to Japan."

In addition, international organizations such as the United Nations and the European Parliament are appealing for consistent support and action to define the Northern Territories as Japanese territory.

From the standpoint of having part of its territory unilaterally annexed by Russia, including southern Crimea, Ukraine seems to be aiming to strengthen pressure on Russia in cooperation with Japan.

President Zelensky: 'Russia has no rights to these territories'

In a video released on the 7th, President Zelensky said, ``Regarding the Northern Territories occupied by Russia, we have confirmed that we respect Japan's sovereignty and territorial integrity, and have signed the relevant laws and regulations. We have no right to our territory, and everyone in the world understands that very well."
