“We are certainly grateful for the active support provided today in all regions of the Russian Armed Forces and partial mobilization.
At the same time, I want to emphasize that there is no need to cancel New Year's festive events in the Russian regions in order to use the saved funds to provide for our military personnel, including those called up during partial mobilization," he said.
Initiatives in certain regions to cancel New Year's events for children under the pretext of supporting the armed forces are premature and unnecessary, the deputy minister added.
Earlier in St. Petersburg, they decided to cancel the planned festive events on the occasion of the New Year.
Canceled, including the concert on Palace Square and fireworks, and the savings will be used to equip the volunteers and mobilized.
A similar decision was made in Nizhny Novgorod.
