“The shelling yesterday damaged the power line that provides electricity to the sixth power unit of the Zaporizhia NPP,” the agency’s website said in a statement.
The IAEA did not report where the fire came from.
On October 6, the military-civilian administration of Energodar announced an explosion in the area of the switchgear at the thermal power plant after the shelling.
Volodymyr Rogov, chairman of the We Are Together with Russia movement, noted that the Armed Forces of Ukraine are preparing for a landing operation with massive shelling of the coastline near Energodar.
