It was Tuesday, February 22, that a man died after being found with a gunshot wound in a car in Ronna.

According to information given to SVT, the incident is believed to have contributed to triggering the spiral of violence that is taking place in Södertälje and which has resulted in six fatal shootings since February this year.

- I have no further information about connections, there are several people who were involved, but the murder on February 22 took place within the framework of organized crime, says Chamber Prosecutor Markus Hankikko.

A 23-year-old man has previously been suspected of the murder.

Those suspicions have been dismissed and he is now suspected of aggravated weapons offense and aggravated protection of a criminal, according to the indictment in Södertälje district court that came during Friday.

- They have not been able to prove that it was he who was the perpetrator, says Markus Hankikko.

No murder suspect

He adds that the main suspect may have been commissioned to carry out the murder, and may have also taken care of the murder weapon.

Two more people are charged.

One of them for aiding and abetting the protection of a criminal and the other for attempted serious weapons offences.

All three people deny wrongdoing.

There are currently no murder suspects in the case.
