"Obviously when there is such an important

change

of government and politics there is a lot of curiosity but there is no concern".

This was stated during a press point at the end of the informal EU Summit in Prague, the Prime Minister,

Mario Draghi

, when asked if he registered concern among European political leaders about the next Italian executive.

“There is great respect for the choices of Italians and interest - he explained - in knowing how the political line of the new government will evolve, something that obviously one finds it difficult to say.

But if one looks at the decisions taken in the past, the line of foreign policy should be unchanged ”, said Draghi, answering a question whether European partners have expressed reservations about the future government.

Regarding the energy crisis: "On energy, things are moving. The

Commission

will present to the Council on October 19 a proposal in which the three elements - try to lower prices, have an element of solidarity in the mechanism and start of the reform of the electricity market - there will be ".

"We have not talked so much in

detail

about the issues, also because we must expect 20 and 21 October, at the word of the President of the Commission, for something clearer, more concrete and in part even proposals for regulations".

Thus the Prime Minister replying to reporters who asked if there had been talk of the Italian proposal of the '

dynamic corridor'.

In the informal European Council in Prague "many"

heads of state

and government "complained" about the

"Russian propaganda"

, which was very "aggressive" and

"full of lies"

.

Draghi said he was "quite satisfied" with the summit.

"We essentially had two important points - he said - one on Ukraine and the other on energy. Everyone reaffirmed support for Ukraine, on all levels, financial and military. And above all we began to talk about reconstruction".

“Probably - he adds, perhaps with reference to the conference that should be held on

25 October in Berlin

- there will be a big conference in Germany, to really begin to prepare a reconstruction plan.

But basically there was great unity. "

"I agree with the proposal of

Gentiloni and Breton

(the two commissioners in an intervention published by various newspapers ask for the issuance of common debt on the Sure model). Similar proposals were also available 5-6 months ago. very natural, especially after the German decision. It is what it takes to put all countries, both those that have fiscal space and those that don't, on an equal level ".

According to some EU sources, Prime Minister

Draghi

would also have said that the delay accumulated to give a radical response to the expensive energy at the height of the situation has meant that the EU is currently facing the risk of a recession.
