During the night of Monday, the police arrived at the apartment in a student residence in Umeå due to a man behaving threateningly.
- He had sprayed lighter fluid and said he was going to light it.
He wasn't too happy that the police came, says Deputy Chief Prosecutor Lindha Strömberg.
Serious threat to official
The man not only threatened to set fire to the apartment, but behaved in a disorderly manner during the operation.
- He has broken a lot in his apartment, says Strömberg.
The police cordoned off a large area around the man's apartment during the operation and after a protracted operation the man was arrested and taken further and handed over to medical care.
The man has been detained and on Thursday he was detained at Umeå district court.
He is suspected of aggravated damage, preparation for aggravated arson, two counts of threatening an official and aggravated threatening an official.
The man has previously been sentenced to prison for serious drug offenses and serious weapons offences.
