Two French people aged 67 and 77, members of the largest child pornography network in Spain, have been sentenced by the Tarragona court.

Considered the boss of the network, one of the two defendants was sentenced to 240 years in prison, the highest sentence in Spain.

His accomplice, from Var, was sentenced to nineteen years in prison, reports France Info.

Minors recruited on the street

The network was dismantled in 2016. The two men were remanded in custody before being released a few months later.

They then took the opportunity to flee before being judged.

A European arrest warrant was then issued.

It was in France that they were finally found, in May 2021, after several months of research.

During the dismantling of the network, the police had found thousands of child pornography videos on computer equipment.

Young victims were recruited from the streets.

Most often immigrants or from disadvantaged backgrounds, received between 10 and 20 euros to be forced to perform sexual acts.
