A man in his 30s is now sentenced to six months in prison after an assault in Ronneby in October 2020.

Initially, the incident was classified as kidnapping and several people were then suspected of being involved.

The crime took place in an apartment in Ronneby after the plaintiff came there to pay a debt.

A fight later arose and the man in his 30s then jumped on the plaintiff's knife.

The knife hit the man in the chest and caused him wounds, although not life-threatening.

The knife found in the apartment

In the evidence against the 30-year-old, the police found, among other things, a hunting knife in the man's apartment after carrying out a crime scene investigation.

There have been blood stains on the knife.

The blood has since been analyzed and found to belong to the victim.

The man was charged with aggravated assault, but the Blekinge district court now makes the assessment that the man should be sentenced for assault of the normal degree, with reference to the fact that the knife was still in the sheath at the time of the incident and that the man had no intention of stabbing.

The man is sentenced to six months in prison and must also pay compensation to the victim.
