Cairo -

On the 49th anniversary of the victory of October 1973, communication sites in Egypt are witnessing a festive atmosphere in which activists from all political and intellectual trends, as well as artists and tweeters, participated.

The posts came through the hashtag “#October_War”, which topped the list of the most popular in Egypt.

Several tweets focused on breaking the claims of the Israeli occupation army, which was promoting itself as the "indomitable army", as well as its claim of military superiority in the war, which he considers a reason to turn hostility into friendship, referring to the signing of the peace treaty between Egypt and Israel.

On the other hand, the various platforms are adorned with pictures and videos of national anthems that documented some of the war clips and the participation of Egyptian soldiers in destroying the berm and the Barlev line.

Tweeters participated in the heroism and sacrifices of military soldiers in the war, as well as the world's fascination with the Egyptian military genius in its ability to destroy the "Barlev Line", which Israel considered the strongest defensive line in the world.

Activists recalled how the Egyptians closed the napalm tubes before crossing, which was one of the most dangerous obstacles facing the Egyptian army.

In this context, Major General Ibrahim Shakib, the founder of the idea of closing the napalm pipes and one of the heroes of the "October War", says that napalm pipes were the most dangerous for the Egyptian army along the Suez Canal.

Speaking to Al Jazeera Net, Shakib explained that pumping napalm into the waters of the Suez Canal would have raised the water temperature to about 700 degrees Celsius, and then the Suez Canal would turn into a flame of fire, and this would result in heavy losses in lives and equipment, because it would burn the Egyptian fighters before completing Transit.

He revealed that the idea appeared spontaneously in his head during one of the meetings, and that it was the only solution to avoid the disaster, which prompted officials to approve the idea and respond to it.

He explained that he needed a force from the naval forces to carry out the mission, as there were no difficulties due to the leadership at the time, which developed a tight plan that relied on complete secrecy and the element of surprise, which led to Israel's surprise.

The Egyptian commander spoke of his feeling of great pride after the success of the plan and the preparation for crossing the Suez Canal, stressing the faith dimension during the "October War", and that faith in God had a major role in raising the concerned spirit among all members of the armed forces.

He referred to the responsibility of the United States of America for Israel's superiority over the Arabs in armaments, but stressed that confronting this will only take place through Arab unity and achieving solidarity at all political, military and economic levels.

Ibrahim Shakib believes that the 1967 war was a defeat for Egypt by all standards, but it was also a prelude to preparing for building Egypt at all levels and in the political, economic and military fields, which later resulted in the war of attrition that was a prelude to the "October Victory".
