Watch Ann Löfgren show off her newly designed dress in the clip above.

It was ten years ago that the re-design group started in Åmål.

About ten women sew material that becomes clothes and other items from things handed in to the Red Cross second-hand store Kupan.

Ann Löfgren has just finished sewing a dress which she hangs on one of the clothes racks when SVT Nyheter Väst comes to visit.

Where did you get the inspiration for this dress?

- You talk about food with flavors that marry, but here it's fabrics that go together and become something nice, says Ann Löfgren.

See you once a week

Once a week, the re-design group gathers in the store's basement to, among other things, take care of materials that came in during the week, show their creations, mark prices, but also talk about materials and sustainability.

The new things that the ladies make are sold in the store where they have their own shop window and showroom in their premises in the basement.

The money from the sale goes directly to the Red Cross.

What does being here mean to you?

- For me personally, the community means a lot and then you feel that you are doing something for the environment and taking care of it instead of throwing it away, says Gunilla Hjalmarsson, the leader of the re-design group.
