Three goals in Reims, four against Nantes: after weeks of stammering, coach Philippe Clement finally sees his attack running at full speed.

And especially its leader "WBY" has just scored four goals in two matches, after times of scarcity.

"For a centre-forward, goals are like ketchup, you insist for a long time before everything comes at the same time," smiles Clement, paraphrasing Cristiano Ronaldo.

Indeed, the French international has provided hard work to bounce back, with the World Cup in sight.

"In more complicated periods, you have to work three times more, insists Ben Yedder. I don't give up. I keep moving forward."

His hat-trick against Nantes even allowed him to overtake Radamel Falcao, "a legend of the club" according to him, in the number of goals with Monaco in Ligue 1 (67 against 65).

With 78 goals scored in all competitions, WBY is now in 5th place among the best Monegasque scorers of all time.

Five units from Falcao (83) and eleven from Christian Dalger (89).

Even if he will never dethrone the great Delio Onnis and his 223 Monegasque goals, Ben Yedder should, this season, integrate the podium of the best scorers in the history of the club.

But if Ben Yedder scores again and if Monaco are becoming an attacking power again, it is not only due to the individual work of their captain.

The Principality's team can now count on a very high-level Breel Embolo, a Kevin Volland on the way to regaining his fullness and a Myron Boadu, eager for revenge.

- "Need all four" -

“We need all four, insists Clement. Kevin remains an important player. I believe in the quality of Boadu. With them, we have more offensive alternatives. We create automatisms, racing lines and passing lines. "

The competition is also tougher.

"They must indeed confirm every three days, underlines Clement. It remains important. And then, the attackers need freshness to be on top. When some do the work and are tired, the others are ready."

The rotation also becomes more natural.

As when, against Nantes, the striker Embolo, tired after his return from selection where he had scored two goals in two matches, was replaced at the break at Volland.

In search of playing time, the latter reformed with Ben Yedder their effective duo.

And he got a penalty.

"Wissam has more automatisms with a second striker, agrees Clement. It's easier for him. He's an atypical player. But before the returns of Volland and Boadu (from injury, editor's note) it was more difficult to play two up front."

Because, to finish a match strong, the Belgian technician always wants to have an attacker on the bench who knows the passing circuits perfectly and is able to get into a game quickly.

It is finally the case.

Especially since the other offensive players, in particular Aleksandr Golovin, Krepin Diatta, Maghnes Akliouche and even Takumi Minamino, providers of good balls, are in good shape.

It now remains to demonstrate it "during 60 matches", asks Clement.
