Kuwait.. Reappointment of Sheikh Ahmed Nawaf Al-Ahmad Al-Sabah as Prime Minister

The Kuwaiti Amiri Diwan announced today the reappointment of the son of the Grand Emir of Kuwait, Sheikh Ahmad Nawaf Al-Ahmad Al-Sabah, as Prime Minister for the second time.

The Kuwaiti government resigned last week following parliamentary elections.

The Kuwaiti constitution stipulates the resignation of the government after the announcement of the results of the parliamentary elections, provided that the government is formed before the opening session of Parliament.

The first government of Sheikh Ahmed Al-Nawaf was formed on July 24, and it is his first government after the resignation of the former Prime Minister Sheikh Sabah Al-Khaled Al-Hamad Al-Sabah against the background of his questioning by Parliament.

Sheikh Ahmed Al-Nawaf was appointed Minister of the Interior in the last government of Sheikh Sabah Al-Khaled Al-Hamad Al-Sabah several months ago.

The first General, Sheikh Ahmed Al-Nawaf, held the position of Undersecretary of the Ministry of Interior, then Governor of Hawalli, and then Minister of Interior.
