EU countries agree to impose new sanctions against Russia

European Union member states agreed on Wednesday to impose a new package of sanctions against Russia after it annexed four Ukrainian regions, the Czech presidency of the European Union announced.

The agreement was reached at the level of ambassadors of the 27 countries.

The names and entities targeted by these new sanctions will be published in the Official Journal of the European Union on Thursday, according to diplomats.
